The Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions is the premier event for anyone involved in research or delivery of arrhythmia care or services.

Americans with Disabilities Act Statement

The Heart Rhythm Society supports the Americans with Disabilities Act. Should you require a specific accommodation or service to accommodate your participation at Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions, please indicate so at the time of registration. An HRS staff member will contact you to assist with special arrangements.

Age Policy

Due to liability restrictions, no one under the age of 16, including infants and toddlers, will be permitted to attend Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions or to enter the Exhibit Hall at any time.

Attire

Business dress is encouraged for all events at the Scientific Sessions. It is often difficult to control the temperature in a large ballroom, so plan to dress in layers and/or bring a sweater or jacket. Comfortable shoes are a must!

Dietary Needs

Attendees of the Wednesday Summits and the Women in EP Networking Luncheon who have special dietary needs are asked to indicate so at the time of registration. Kosher and vegetarian meals are not available unless notification is provided in advance. Special meal tickets are included for those who indicate a special dietary need for these events.

Language

The official language of the Annual Scientific Sessions is English. Simultaneous translation will not be available.

Official sessions and events will be held at the McCormick Place West Convention Center located at 2301 South Indiana Avenue, Chicago, IL 60616.

Housing

  • How do I reserve a hotel room?

    You must be registered for Heart Rhythm 2017 in order to reserve a hotel room. Once you complete your registration online, your registration confirmation will provide you with information on how to reserve a hotel room.

  • What is the housing deposit policy?

    No deposit is required when making your hotel reservation, however reservations must be secured with one of the following credit cards at the time of booking: American Express, VISA and MasterCard. If you prefer to send a check deposit, checks must be made payable to onPeak and must accompany your housing request. Please do not include your registration payment with you hotel deposit. Checks should be mailed directly to onPeak and must be received by March 24, 2016.

    • Credit cards will be charged on or around April 17, 2017 by your confirmed hotel.
    • Purchase orders are not accepted.
    • Wire/bank transfers are not accepted.
    • Please refer to the individual hotel cancellation policy listed in your hotel confirmation.

    onPeak and the Heart Rhythm Society cannot acknowledge receipt of a faxed form. Please retain your transmittal report until you have received your hotel/housing confirmation from onPeak.

  • Who is the Housing Company?

    onPeak will serve as Heart Rhythm Society's official housing company. Any questions related to housing should be directed to onPeak by calling +1-855-906-2267 or +1-312-527-7300 or by e-mailing hrs@onpeak.com. Registration for Heart Rhythm 2017 is required in order to reserve a room within the Heart Rhythm 2017 housing block.

Registration

  • How do I register?

    Member registration for Heart Rhythm 2017 opens on December 13, 2016. Non-member registration opens January 10, 2017. When registration opens, you may register online. If you register by fax, by mail, or by phone, the following restrictions apply:

    1. Service Charge: A $25 service charge will be applied to all registrations completed by fax, by mail or by phone.
    2. Adjustment Clause: If there is a discrepancy with the addition of money items on the form, the total will be adjusted by CDS and the registrant will be charged the corrected amount on their credit card.

    Convention Data Services (CDS), the official registration company of Heart Rhythm 2017 and the Heart Rhythm Society cannot acknowledge receipt of a faxed registration form. Please retain your transmittal report until you have received your registration confirmation from CDS.

  • How do I re-print my confirmation letter?

    If you have registered for Heart Rhythm 2017, the link provided with your confirmation email enables you to enter your badge number and e-mail address to log-in and perform the following functions.

    • Update your contact information
    • Upgrade your registration (when available)
    • Print a Letter of Invitation for visa application
    • Print a receipt
    • Resend a confirmation
    • Generate an invitation to invite a colleague to Heart Rhythm 2017
    • View a sample badge
    • Access hotel information
  • When will I receive my badge and tickets?

    You may pick up your badge and tickets at the self-service registration kiosks located in McCormick Place - West Building, on Level 3.

  • What is my Heart Rhythm Society Customer ID Number? Where do I find it?

    The Heart Rhythm Society Customer ID Number is a unique, six-digit number assigned to your customer record. If you are a Heart Rhythm Society member or a previous Scientific Sessions attendee, this number was provided with your registration notice. If you cannot locate your Customer ID Number, contact the Heart Rhythm Society at info@HRSonline.org.

  • Who is the Registration Company?

    Convention Data Services (CDS) serves as Heart Rhythm Society's official registration company. Any questions related to registration should be directed to CDS by calling +1-800-748-5052 or +1-508-743-0529 or e-mailing HRS@xpressreg.net.

  • What is the payment policy?

    The Heart Rhythm Society accepts the following credit cards: American Express, VISA and MasterCard and checks drawn by a United States bank, in United States dollars. The registrant must pay all fees or charges connected with registration at the time of registration. Credit cards will be charged immediately. Make checks payable to Heart Rhythm Society.

    • Registration Forms will not be processed without full payment to the Heart Rhythm Society.
    • Purchase orders are not accepted.
    • Wire/bank transfers are not accepted.
  • How and when will I receive my registration confirmation?

    Registration confirmations are provided via e-mail within 72 hours of receipt of your registration with payment in full plus additional documentation (if necessary). If you do not receive confirmation within 72 hours, please contact Convention Data Services (CDS) at +1-800-748-5052 or +1-508-743-0529 or HRS@xpressreg.net.

  • How much is the registration fee for Heart Rhythm's Annual Scientific Sessions

    The registration fees for Heart Rhythm 2017 depend on factors such as membership in the Heart Rhythm Society and package selected. Please visit Heart Rhythm 2017 Registration Rates for more information.

  • What is included in the Heart Rhythm registration fee?

  • Which events require an additional ticket?

    The following events require an additional ticket:

    The HRS Physician Leadership Series: The Power to Persuade - Saturday, May 13; 8-11 a.m.
    In collaboration with PhysicianCEO™ and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, the Heart Rhythm Society is pleased to announce the first in a series of professional development programs at the Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions. Northwestern’s Associate Professor of Management & Organizations, Loran Nordgren and Co-Chairs Richard L. Page, MD, FHRS and Richard I. Fogel, MD, FHRS, both HRS Past Presidents, will host this 3-hour intensive seminar. Registrants interested in attending this session must indicate so at the time of registration and pay an additional fee. Register early as this program is limited to 150 attendees. 

    Women in EP: Managing Your Health and Your Patient in an Era of Digital Medicine - Friday, May 12; 12:15 - 1:15 p.m.
    Registrants interested in attending this complimentary session must indicate so at the time of registration. A ticket (printed with the registrant’s badge) will be required for entry. Registrants for this program have the option to opt-out of lunch. If lunch is selected this will be printed on the registrant's ticket. Admittance is first-come, first-served and limited to 200 attendees.

Session Schedule

  • When is the Awards and Recognition Ceremony?

    The Awards and Recognition Ceremony will be held Friday, May 12 at 6:15 p.m. and will be followed by the Presidents' Reception. This event is included in the Premier Registration Package, the General Registration Package, and Friday-only registrations.

    Witness the induction of new Fellows of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS). The FHRS designation distinguishes members among health care providers for their specialization in electrophysiology and pacing. During the ceremony, congratulate distinguished award winners for their outstanding achievements and witness the passing of the gavel to the Society’s next President George F. Van Hare, MD, FHRS, CCDS, CEPS. A reception will follow where attendees can network with colleagues and enjoy light refreshments.

  • Do I need to pre-select the mini-courses I'd like to attend?

    We ask that you select the mini courses you'd like to attend. However, you will not receive a ticket. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis.

  • When is the Opening Plenary?

    Wednesday, May 10 at 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

  • When is the Featured Posters Session?

    It will be held Wednesday, May 10, 5 – 6:30 p.m. and it is included in the General Registration Package, Premier Registration Package, Wednesday-only, and guest registrations.

  • When will the mini-courses be held?

    The mini-courses will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017. There are two time blocks: 10 a.m.– noon and 1 – 3 p.m.

  • When will the Allied Health Professionals Networking Sessions be held?

    The networking sessions will be held Thursday, May 11, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. and Friday, May 12, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. (Please note that there are no additional fees for the Allied Health Professionals Networking Sessions; however, seating will be limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.)

Heart Rhythm On Demand

  • How do I purchase a copy of the 2017 Heart Rhythm On Demand?

    The GENERAL and PREMIER Registration Packages for Heart Rhythm 2017 include access to Heart Rhythm On Demand. Heart Rhythm On Demand is available to faculty, abstract presenters, exhibitors, and one-day registrants for a separate fee and may be purchased at the time of registration.

Membership

  • What are the requirements for member registration?

    Anyone applying for membership with the Heart Rhythm Society during the Heart Rhythm registration period must have their completed application packet (application, CV and dues) approved by the Society prior to registering for Heart Rhythm's Annual Scientific Sessions. The Society will not reimburse the difference between the member and nonmember rates to Heart Rhythm 2017 attendees whose completed applications are approved after they register for Heart Rhythm.

  • What if I am not a Society member?

    Non-members who do not wish to apply for membership may obtain their Customer ID number by calling 800-748-5052 or e-mailing HRS@xpressreg.net. If you have not participated in a Heart Rhythm Society activity before, please register using your last name and e-mail and a Customer ID will be automatically assigned to you. All non-members must register at the non-member rate.

    Anyone applying for membership with the Heart Rhythm Society during the Heart Rhythm registration period must have their completed application packet (application, CV and dues) approved by the Society prior to registering for Heart Rhythm's Annual Scientific Sessions. The Society will not reimburse the difference between the member and nonmember rates to Heart Rhythm attendees whose completed applications are approved after they register for Heart Rhythm's Annual Scientific Sessions. Completed membership applications for new members must be submitted prior to the early registration deadline.

Other

  • Photography & Filming

    Professional photographs, audio, and video will be captured during the Scientific Sessions. Attendees hereby grant HRS and its representatives permission to photograph and/or record them at the Scientific Sessions and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally to disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or any payment to you.

  • How do I correct outdated contact information in my customer record?

    Please log in to the Heart Rhythm Society website to view and  update your Online Profile.

Faculty Registration

  • What is the payment policy for Scientific Sessions faculty?

    The registration fee is waived for invited faculty. To receive complimentary registration, please register using your unique registration link. Fee to attend Summits, however are not waived - upgrade to Premier Registration is required. If you are participating in one (or more) Summits as a chair, invited speaker, abstract presenter, or panelist, you are not required to upgrade to the Premier Registration Package to gain access to the session on the day of presentation.

  • What happens if I register for the meeting and then find out I am an Abstract Presenter? Do I get a refund?

    Yes, your Scientific Sessions registration fee, less than the Abstract Presenter registration fee, will be refunded automatically by CDS. This applies only to the first/primary author. There is an additional fee to upgrade to the Premier Registration Package to attend AF Summit, VT/VF Summit, Lead & Device Management Summit.

Heart Rhythm Cancellations/Refunds

  • How may I substitute my registration?

    Written notification of substitutions must be received by CDS on or before April 21, 2017. The Heart Rhythm Society reserves the right to collect or retain the balance of registration fees in the event that the substitute’s membership category differs from the original registrant.   • How do I cancel my meeting registration and get a refund?

    The following terms and conditions are in effect for Heart Rhythm 2017:

    • Requests for refunds or cancellations require a written notification via email: HRS@xpressreg.net.
    • Refunds and cancellations must be received on or before 11:59 p.m. EST, on April 21, 2017. Refunds will not be granted after this date.
    • Refunds are subject to a $75 processing fee.
    • Substitutions require a written notification to mailto: HRS@xpressreg.net.
    • Substitutions may be made at any time, and must be for an attendee from the same institution as the original registrant.
    • Approved refunds will be issued within 30 days after the close of the meeting and posted by the same method of registration payment.
    • Telephone requests for cancellations and substitutions will not be honored.
    • The Heart Rhythm Society does not reimburse the difference between the member and non-member registration rates to any Heart Rhythm 2017 attendee who registers before becoming a member.
    • Professional photographs, audio, and video will be captured during the Scientific Sessions. Each attendee hereby grants HRS and its representatives permission to photograph and/or record them at the Scientific Sessions and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval from you or payment to you.
    • Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at any time at official Heart Rhythm 2017 events including Scientific Sessions and the exhibit hall.
    • There is a $20 service charge for emailed, mailed, or faxed registration forms.
