Invited Speaker/Oral Abstract Presenter

Invited Faculty and Oral Abstract Presenters are essential to our meeting. The information and resources on this page can be used to assist you in preparing for your role(s).

Check out this short video on how to prepare for your Heart Rhythm presentation!

  • Reviewing Your Confirmed Faculty Roles

To review a summary of all of your roles and session participants, view the confirmation page of the original invitation.

Session length and number of participants can be found in the Session Overview section of your original invitation.

Be sure to introduce yourself to your session chairs as soon as possible. These experts were selected to assist you with any questions you may have about your presentation and presenting at Heart Rhythm.

  • Quick Tips! When Preparing for your Presentation

Title Slide: include the title of the presentation, presenting author's first and last name, and institution

Avoid Busy Slides: When preparing your slides, you really want to ensure that your design is clear and concise. Font Size 18 pt or higher for headers and 14-16 pt for body information. Helvetica and Arial font style works well.

Don't Violate Copyrights: Avoid copyright images such as company logos, cartoons, movie stills or comic book characters.

Disclose All Potential Conflicts: The society will insert a disclosure slide at the beginning of your oral presentation based on the information you have previously disclosed. Always read your disclosure slide out loud to the audience.

Connect with the Audience: While giving a presentation, it’s important to connect with the audience. Remember to make eye contact; use appropriate facial gestures and avoid reading slides verbatim.

Practice and Prepare: A good rule of thumb is to prepare approximately 1 slide per minute. For example, if the length of your presentation is 15 minutes you should have no more than 15-20 slides.

Please use the Session Types & Specialty Tracks for information about the time allotted for your presentation.

Uploading a Presentation Begins on April 8

Each presenter is responsible for the design/format of their presentation. Faculty will received an email from scientific.sessions@HRSonline.org on April 7, 2017, announcing the availability of the HRS 2017 Advance Submission Site. Please visit this site using the link and credentials provided in the email. If you did not receive this email, please contact support@sessionupload.com and they will assist you.

Visit the Faculty Training page for more information!

Embargo Policy for Abstracts

All abstracts are embargoed until the start time of session. HRS will release these abstracts (general submission and late-breaking abstracts) the day/time of the presentation.

For Translational EP Session Participants

Translators will preside over the session and will interrupt speakers during their presentation when "translatable" concepts are mentioned. After all the presentations have been completed, the Translator leads a ten-minute attendee question and answer session, discussing and integrating content from all of the presentation, using slides if desired.
