HRS Travel Scholarship

Applications are now closed. Scholarships will be announced on or before March 1, 2020.

The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) encourages and supports the efforts of early career electrophysiologists and other heart rhythm professionals to participate in the Society’s activities. To that end, the Heart Rhythm Travel Scholarships support participation in the Annual Scientific Sessions with a complimentary registration to Heart Rhythm and up to $1,500 in reimbursement of travel costs.

Scholarships are available for third-year residents, cardiology fellows, clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellows, and post-doctoral researchers interested in pursuing electrophysiology research, either in academic settings or private practice. Allied professional applicants must be licensed RNs, PAs, NPs, or technicians employed in an accredited institution or established cardiac electrophysiology program/practice. Genetic counselor applicants must have a master’s degree in genetic counseling from an ACGC accredited program or employed in an accredited institution or established cardiac electrophysiology program/practice.

All scholarship applications will be reviewed by the Travel Scholarship Working Group who will select qualifying individuals to receive awards. The number of travel scholarships to be awarded is contingent upon the level of funding achieved through individual donations and the abstract submission fees. All travel scholarship funds are derived from non-commercial sources.

Please note: If an applicant has received a travel scholarship within the last 2 years, they will not be eligible for an award.

Heart Rhythm Society Members will receive priority over non-members, but membership is not required. Learn more about becoming a member of the Heart Rhythm Society today.

The Travel Scholarships seek to:

  • Introduce health care professionals who have expressed an interest in electrophysiology to the multiple facets of the electrophysiology specialty
  • Promote continued collaborative relationships between early career professionals and experienced electrophysiology professionals
  • Provide opportunities for mentoring of clinician scientists and health care professionals early in their training
