The Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions is the premier event for anyone involved in research or delivery of arrhythmia care or services.

 

Americans with Disabilities Act Statement

The Heart Rhythm Society supports the Americans with Disabilities Act. Should you require a specific accommodation or service to accommodate your participation at Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions, please indicate so at the time of registration. An HRS staff member will contact you to assist with special arrangements.

Age Policy

Due to liability restrictions, no one under the age of 16, including infants and toddlers, will be permitted to attend Heart Rhythm Society's Annual Scientific Sessions or to enter the Exhibit Hall at any time.

Attire

Business dress is encouraged for all events at the Scientific Sessions. It is often difficult to control the temperature in a large ballroom, so plan to dress in layers and/or bring a sweater or jacket. Comfortable shoes are a must!

Dietary Needs

Attendees of the Wednesday Summits and the Women in EP Networking Luncheon who have special dietary needs are asked to indicate so at the time of registration. Kosher and vegetarian meals are not available unless notification is provided in advance. Special meal tickets are included for those who indicate a special dietary need for these events.

Language

The official language of the Annual Scientific Sessions is English. Simultaneous translation will not be available.

Housing

  • Who is managing hotel reservations on behalf of Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions?

    onPeak will serve as Heart Rhythm Society's official housing company. Any questions related to housing should be directed to onPeak by calling 855-906-2267 or +1-312-527-7300 or by emailing hrs@onpeak.com. Registration for Heart Rhythm 2019 is required in order to reserve a room within the Heart Rhythm 2019 housing block.

  • How do I reserve a hotel room?

    You must be registered for Heart Rhythm 2019 in order to reserve a hotel room. Once you complete your registration online, your registration confirmation will provide you with information on how to reserve a hotel room.

  • What is the hotel deposit policy?

    No deposit is required when making your hotel reservation, however reservations must be secured with one of the following credit cards at the time of booking: American Express, Visa, or MasterCard. If you prefer to send a check deposit, checks must be made payable to onPeak. Please do not include your registration payment with you hotel deposit. Checks should be mailed directly to onPeak and must be received by March 25, 2019.

    • If you made your reservation at one of the following Heart Rhythm 2019 hotels, your credit card will be charged one night's room and tax per reservation on or around April 15, 2019: Hilton San Francisco Union Square, InterContinental San Francisco and the San Francisco Marriott Marquis. For Heart Rhythm 2019 hotels other than the aforementioned, please refer to the individual hotel cancellation policy listed in your confirmation in order to avoid fee penalties.
    • Purchase orders are not accepted.
    • Wire/bank transfers are not accepted.
    • For all Heart Rhythm 2019 hotels, refer to the individual hotel cancellation policy listed in your hotel confirmation for more information on specific hotel policies.

    onPeak and the Heart Rhythm Society cannot acknowledge receipt of a faxed form. Please retain your transmittal report until you have received your hotel/housing confirmation from onPeak.

  • Who is the Registration Company?

    CompuSystems, Inc. (CSI) serves as Heart Rhythm Society's official registration company. Any questions related to registration should be directed to CSI by calling +1-224-563-3755 or by emailing heartrhythm@compusystems.com.

  • How do I register for Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions?

    CompuSystems, Inc. (CSI), is the official registration company of Heart Rhythm 2019.

    Member registration for Heart Rhythm 2019 opened on December 18, 2018. Nonmember registration opens January 8, 2019. When registration opens, you may register online. If you register by fax, by mail, or by phone, the following restrictions apply:

    1. Service Charge: A $25 service charge will be applied to all registrations completed by fax, email, by mail or by phone.
    2. Adjustment Clause: If there is a discrepancy with the addition of money items on the form, the total will be adjusted by CSI and the registrant will be charged the corrected amount on their credit card.
  • What is included in the Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions registration fee?

  • Which events require an additional registration and fee?

    The following events require advance registration and an additional fee:

    The HRS Physician Leadership Series - Tuesday, May 7; 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

    This 3-hour leadership development seminar will focus on how to improve organizational effectiveness through the interplay of strategy, finance, operations, and leadership. Participants will be provided guidance on how to navigate the hospital management decision structure and how to build a business case. Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
    • Identify strategies for developing leadership skills necessary to affect operational improvement
    • Discuss the assessment of their own leadership skill
    • Describe practices or actions to engage leadership skills as member of a healthcare team

    Credit: The Heart Rhythm Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
    The Heart Rhythm Society designates this live activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

    Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 3 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

    Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity, with individual assessments of the participant and feedback to the participant, enables the participant to earn 3 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.     The annual Women in EP Luncheon offers a unique opportunity to discuss, debate and network. The topic for this year's luncheon discussion is supporting and promoting women investigators in basic and clinical research.   • What is the payment policy for Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions?

    The Heart Rhythm Society accepts the following credit cards: American Express, Visa and MasterCard and checks drawn by a United States bank, in United States dollars. The registrant must pay all fees or charges connected with registration at the time of registration. Credit cards will be charged immediately. Make checks payable to Heart Rhythm Society.

    • Registrations will not be processed without full payment to the Heart Rhythm Society.
    • Purchase orders are not accepted.
    • Wire/bank transfers are not accepted.
  • How and when will I receive my registration confirmation?

    Registration confirmations are provided via email within 24 hours of receipt of your registration with payment in full plus additional documentation (if necessary). If you do not receive confirmation within 24 hours, please contact CompuSystems, Inc. at +1-224-563-3755 or email heartrhythm@compusystems.com.

  • How do I re-print my confirmation letter?

    If you have registered for Heart Rhythm 2019, the link provided with your confirmation email enables you return to your ConnectME Registration Dashboard and perform the following functions:

    • Update your contact information
    • Upgrade your registration (when available)
    • Print a Letter of Invitation for visa application
    • Print a receipt
    • Resend a confirmation
    • Generate an invitation to invite a colleague to Heart Rhythm 2019

  • When will I receive my badge and materials?

    You may pick up your badge and materials at the self-service registration kiosks located in the North Lobby of the Moscone Center, 747 Howard Street, San Francisco, CA USA.

  • When is the Opening Plenary?

    Wednesday, May 8 at 8:30 - 9:30 a.m.

  • When is the Featured Posters Session?

    It will be held Wednesday, May 8, 5 – 6:30 p.m. and it is included in the General Registration Package, Premier Registration Package, Wednesday-only, and guest registrations.

  • When will the mini-courses be held?

    The mini-courses will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2019. There are two time blocks: 10 a.m.– noon and 1 – 3 p.m.

  • When will the Allied Health Professionals Networking Sessions be held?

    The networking sessions will be held Thursday, May 9, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. and Friday, May 10, 12:15 – 1:15 p.m. (Please note that there are no additional fees for the Allied Health Professionals Networking Sessions; however, seating will be limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.)

  • When is the Awards and Recognition Ceremony?

    The Awards and Recognition Ceremony will be held Friday, May 10 at 6:15 p.m. and will be followed by the Presidents' Reception. This event is included in the Premier Registration Package, the General Registration Package, and Friday-only registrations.

    Witness the induction of new Fellows of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS). The FHRS designation distinguishes members among health care providers for their specialization in electrophysiology and pacing. During the ceremony, congratulate distinguished award winners for their outstanding achievements and witness the passing of the gavel to the Society’s next President Andrea M. Russo, MD, FHRS. A reception will follow where attendees can network with colleagues and enjoy light refreshments.

  • Do I need to pre-select the mini-courses I'd like to attend?

    We ask that you select the mini courses you'd like to attend. However, you will not receive a ticket. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis.

Membership

  • What are the requirements for member registration?

    Anyone applying for membership with the Heart Rhythm Society during the Heart Rhythm registration period must have their completed application packet (application, CV and dues) approved by the Heart Rhythm Society prior to registering for the Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions. The Heart Rhythm Society will not reimburse the difference between the member and nonmember rates to Heart Rhythm 2019 registrants whose completed applications are approved after they register for Heart Rhythm 2019.

  • What are the the Heart Rhythm 2019 terms & conditions?

    Heart Rhythm Society reserves the right to make exceptions to the Heart Rhythm 2019 terms and conditions as outlined below. Submission of your registration and payment constitutes an agreement on your part to accept the following terms and conditions:

     

    Cancellations and Refunds

    • Cancellations and requests for refunds in the General and Premier registration categories require a written notification via email to heartrhythm@compusystems.com. Telephone requests will not be honored.
    • Cancellations and requests for refunds in the General and Premier registration categories must be received on or before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, on April 19, 2019. Refunds will not be granted after this date.
    • All cancellations in the General and Premier registration categories are subject to a $125 processing fee.
    • Refunds will not be processed for registered individuals who do not attend the meeting (no-shows).
    • One-day registrations are non-refundable.
    • Summit Only registrations are non-refundable.
    • Purchase of the Physician Leadership Series is non-refundable.
    • Purchase of the Women in EP Luncheon is non-refundable.

     

    Substitutions 

    • Substitutions requests require a written notification via email to: heartrhythm@compusystems.com. Telephone requests will not be honored.
    • Substitutions must be for an attendee from within the same organization as the original registrant and must be for the same registration package. The Heart Rhythm Society reserves the right to collect or retain the balance of registration fees in the event that the substitute’s membership category differs from the original registrant and results in a lower registration fee.

     

    Membership

    • A Heart Rhythm 2019 registrant must be an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society at the time of registration in order to qualify for the discounted member registration rates.
    • If you are a nonmember, and you are planning to join and register onsite in San Francisco, your membership application must be received by the Heart Rhythm Society on or before April 30, 2019, in order to be reviewed in time to qualify for member registration rates.
    • The Heart Rhythm Society will not reimburse the difference between the member and non-member registration rates to any Heart Rhythm 2019 attendee who registers before becoming a member.

     

    Miscellaneous

    • A $25 service charge will be applied to all registrations completed by fax, email, mail, or phone.
    • Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at any Heart Rhythm 2019 events.
    • Americans with Disabilities Act: If you are disabled and require special assistance while attending this program, please email tblithe@hrsonline.org.
    • All badge printing is done onsite in San Francisco. Badges will not be mailed to registrants prior to Heart Rhythm 2019. If you misplace your badge onsite, a new badge must be purchased at the replacement cost of $75.
    • The Heart Rhythm Society reserves the right to capture digital media content in the form of professional photographs, audio, and video during Heart Rhythm 2019. By registering for Heart Rhythm 2019 you hereby grant permission to Heart Rhythm Society and its representatives to photograph and/or record you at Heart Rhythm 2019, and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval or payment.
    • By attending Heart Rhythm 2019, you agree to abide by the Heart Rhythm Society Code of Ethics and Professional Standards. 
    • Heart Rhythm 2019 educational programming is available on a first-come, first-served basis, including paid conference sessions and keynotes. We recommend arriving early to all scheduled conference sessions.
  • How do I correct outdated contact information in my Heart Rhythm Society customer account?

    You may log in to the Heart Rhythm Society website to view and update your Heart Rhythm Society customer account.

  • What is the Heart Rhythm 2019 Registration Data Collection and Use policy?

    The Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) collects your registration information for the purpose of registering you to attend Heart Rhythm 2019. In submitting your information during the registration process, you consent to your personal information being used in the following ways:

    • Information collected during registration will be used to process Heart Rhythm 2019 badges, verify contact and demographic information, send marketing emails, and send transactional emails and correspondence related to Heart Rhythm 2019 information and registration purchases.
    • Your data may be shared with third parties the Heart Rhythm Society engages with directly under contract to provide services related to Heart Rhythm 2019. These services include, but are not limited to event analysis, event production, event advertising/marketing, hotel reservations, and mobile app usage, CME and/or CE credit claiming.
    • Throughout the registration process, you may make selections to opt in or to receive information on particular items. By selecting these options, you consent to having the information you provided during registration shared with third parties based on your selection during the registration process.

    Registering on Behalf of Someone Else
    If you are registering on behalf of anyone other than yourself, you represent that you are authorized to complete their registration, accept the Terms and Conditions on behalf of each person you register, and that the information you provide is accurate. You agree to be solely liable for damages as a result of any information you provide, including opting-in to receiving communications at another individual’s email address. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heart Rhythm Society, its officers, directors, employees, agents and affiliates from all liability, damages, judgments and costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) for any claims brought by or on behalf of any third party arising from your conduct, misconduct or negligence in completing this registration on another’s behalf. You agree to provide a copy of these Terms and Conditions to any individual you register.

    Badge Scanning
    By attending any portion of the scheduled event, including but not limited to the general session, educational sessions, the exhibit hall or any general area dedicated to the event, the event owner or third-party vendor will be passively scanning your badge via Bluetooth receivers. The barcode and beacon on your badge do not contain any personal information, however when your badge or barcode is scanned, you are authorizing HRS to securely share the contact details your provided during the registration process with applicable parties.

    Heart Rhythm Society and their educational partners will use all information in compliance with applicable laws and all personal information will be collected and processed with the appropriate security following applicable data privacy and protection laws. Please contact our registration team at heartrhythm@compusystems.com to opt-out of scanning completely, including the ability to passively track what sessions you attend. Opting out will eliminate your ability to track sessions attended and prepopulate the credit cart used to claim CME/MOC credit.

    Exhibitor Scans: Exhibitors may ask to scan the barcode on your badge in exhibit booths or at sponsored functions. You may decline to allow your badge to be scanned, however Exhibitors may restrict access to those who do not permit the scan. If you remain in an exhibit booth for longer than two minutes, equipment in the booth will automatically passively scan your badge. By remaining in a booth for more than two minutes, you are consenting to being passively scanned by the exhibitor. These scans confirm your intent to receive communications from that exhibitor. If you do not want to share your information with exhibitors, you can opt-out at registration or you can leave a booth prior to two minutes. If your information is collected by exhibitors, by either active or passive scanning, you will be subject to the communications and privacy policies of their organization and must opt-out with them directly.

    Event Management Scans: You agree that HRS may have access to your choices in regard to event participation in order to better understand overall attendee interests, ensure our services are meeting attendee needs, and assist in producing more effective programs in the future. You also consent to having the personal information you entered at registration shared with educational partners and third-party vendors for the purposes of credit claiming.

    Heart Rhythm 2019 Third Party Mailings Opt Out
    The Heart Rhythm Society does not sell registration data for the Annual Scientific Sessions. There are instances where an exhibitor may receive, as part of a sponsorship package, your contact information. As part of this distribution, you may receive information on related products and services by way of mail. Your email address will not be shared with exhibitors.

    Heart Rhythm Society will retain your personal data associated with registration information for 4 years. If you need to obtain a copy of the information you have submitted or to opt out, please send a request to heartrhythm@compusystems.com.

  • Photography and Filming

    The Heart Rhythm Society reserves the right to capture digital media content in the form of professional photographs, audio, and video during Heart Rhythm 2019. By registering for Heart Rhythm 2019 you hereby grant permission to Heart Rhythm Society and its representatives to photograph and/or record you at Heart Rhythm 2019, and to distribute, broadcast, use, or otherwise globally disseminate, in perpetuity, such media without any further approval or payment.

Faculty Registration

  • What happens if I register for the meeting and then confirm my participation as Faculty or as an Abstract Presenter? Do I get a refund?

    Faculty

    If you register for Heart Rhythm 2019 and then confirm your participation as Faculty, your GENERAL registration fee will be refunded. There is an additional fee to upgrade to the PREMIER Registration Package to attend AF Summit, Emerging Therapeutics Summit, and the Digital Health Summit.

    Abstract Presenters

    If you register for the Heart Rhythm 2019 and then confirm your participation as an Abstract Presenter, you will be reimbursed the difference between the Abstract Presenter rate for GENERAL registration and the registration rate that you originally paid. This applies only to the first/primary author. There is an additional fee to upgrade to the PREMIER Registration Package to attend AF Summit, Emerging Therapeutics Summit, and the Digital Health Summit.

  • What is the payment policy for Heart Rhythm Scientific Sessions Faculty and Abstract Presenters?

    Faculty

    • The Faculty GENERAL registration rate is complimentary. Faculty may upgrade to PREMIER registration for $520.
    • The fee to attend Summits is not waived. An upgrade to PREMIER Registration is required.
    • If you are participating in one (or more) Summits as a chair, invited speaker, abstract presenter, or panelist, you are not required to upgrade to PREMIER Registration to gain access to the session on the day of presentation.

    Abstract Presenters

    • Abstract Presenters receive a discounted GENERAL registration rate of $575.
    • An upgrade fee of $1125 to PREMIER registration is required to attend the Summits.
    • If you are participating in one (or more) Summits as a chair, invited speaker, abstract presenter, or panelist, you are not required to upgrade to PREMIER Registration to gain access to the session on the day of presentation.
    • The above applies only to the first/primary author.

  • How do I cancel my Heart Rhythm 2019 registration and request a refund?
