The Society is now accepting science abstracts for the 40th Annual Scientific Sessions! The submission deadline is Friday, December 7, 2018, 11:59 p.m. ET. Accepted abstracts will be published in the May Supplement of the HeartRhythm Journal.
New this year, each abstract submission will require a fee of $25 for HRS members and $75 for non-members. The submission fee will directly fund additional travel grants to assist fellows-in-training and support enhancements to the presentation of abstracts. The Submitting Author will be charged a non-refundable submission fee for each abstract.
Payments must be made by credit card during the submission process. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are accepted.

Abstract Submission Guideline Requirements
Author Designation Information: With the SSO login, the Submitting Author is the Presenting Author and listed as the First Author for all abstracts. The contact information of the submitter of the abstract will automatically populate the submission information for the Presenting Author and First Author fields. All correspondence and registration information for the abstract will be directed to the Submitting Author only. The Submitting Author is responsible for making sure that their contact information is current during the submission process.
Authors should carefully consider the designation of the Submitting/Presenting/First Author before initiating the abstract submission process. Each Submitting Author will be required to login using their HRS account login. If you do not have a username/password or have forgotten the information, or if you are unable to reset your password and need further assistance, contact Membership at (202) 464-9855. The Submitting Author's information will pre-populate as the Presenting Author and First Author information fields upon signing into the submission site.
Registration: The Presenting Author (Submitting Author) is required to register for Scientific Sessions at the reduced registration fee. Expenses associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter. Only one author per abstract is considered the presenter. Co-Author(s) listed on the abstract do not receive reduced rates towards registration. For more information, please review the Presenter Registration Information page.
Regular Abstract Submission: Accepted abstracts are embargoed until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. This means that information regarding any abstract submission may not be released before this time. Failure to honor embargo policies will result in the abstract being withdrawn and barred from presentation.
Late-Breaking Clinical Trials Submission: Accepted Late-Breaking Clinical Trials abstracts are embargoed until the time of presentation. This means that the Society will release these abstracts the day of the presentation/session.
Duplicate Submissions: Abstract presented prior to the 40th Annual Scientific Sessions with substantially similar materials at any major North American meeting will be disqualified.
Industry Abstract Submissions: Abstract submissions from industry representatives are allowed. Submissions are required to focus on science and research and not on specific products or services. The abstract presentation may NOT be sales presentations and/or endorsement for products or services.
Abstract Acceptance and Withdrawal
The Presenting Author must submit a request via email to the following address to withdraw an abstract from Heart Rhythm 2019 (abstracts@HRSonline.org). Please note that the Presenting Author will receive an e-mail confirmation upon completion of the withdrawal. The request must fulfill the following requirements:
- Subject line of the e-mail must include "Abstract Withdrawal"
- Inclusion of abstract title and number
- Reason for the withdrawal
The deadline to withdraw an abstract and avoid publication in the May 2019 issue of HeartRhythm Journal is Friday, February 15, 2019, 11:59 p.m. ET.
To withdraw an abstract from Heart Rhythm 2019 the Presenting Author must submit a request in writing to abstracts@HRSonline.org by February 15, 2019, 11:59 p.m. ET.
